Basur likes public health

Ontario’s chief medical officer of health says public health services in the province are improving.

Dr. Sheila Basur is spending the week in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts meeting with officials from the northwestern Health Unit.

Basur says not only has the province put more money into public health, it is also planning to create a new agency to oversee health units.

Basur ever since the SARS outbreak three years ago, the provincial government has put more resources into the public health system, to try and prevent a similar outbreak from happening again.
