Basur prepares for pandemic

The province’s chief medical officer of health says Ontario is well-positioned to handle a flu-pandemic.

Recent reports suggests that a flu pandemic is imminent
and could pose a greater threat to life than than any
terrorist attack.

Dr. Sheila Basur says since the SARS outbreak three years ago, the provincial government has worked diligently to make sure the public is kept as safe as possible from the spread of disease.

N008 Q: …outbreak. (11 secs.)

Basur is travelling across northwestern Ontario this week
to meet with officials from the Northwestern Health Unit
and employees at satellite offices in Dryden, Atikokan and Fort Frances.
