A furious 4th quarter run came up just short as the Kenora Broncos outlasted the Dryden Eagles 49-45 in Senior Boys Basketball Thursday at DHS.
The Eagles outscored the Broncos 13-4 in the final quarter and Coach Duncan Wilkenson says his club showed a lot of heart in a physical affair.
Wilkenson notes his club doesn’t know when to quit and feels heart may the difference when the playoffs start next week.
Caleb Eshbach had the hot hand for Dryden netting 19, including 5 three pointers. (three in the final quarter)
It was a different story for the Juniors as they watched the Broncos go on a 16-5 run in the final half en route to a 49-38 win over the Eagles.
Coach Paul Darling says they had to ease up towards the end as they ran into serious foul trouble.
Kevin Gardam led all Dryden scorers with 21-points.
It was a clean sweep for the Dryden Eagles against the Kenora Broncos on the Volleyball court.
The Senior Girls walked over the Broncos 25-10, 25-6, 25-5 and Mariah Green says they didn’t make a lot of mistakes.
The Juniors also won in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13, 25-6 and Dayna Olson says they found their groove late in the game.
