Testing has determined that a bear who attacked an American tourist in Ear Falls did not have rabies.
The 39-year-old from Minnesota was treated for numerous puncture wounds and scratches last month.
He also had a $1,000 series of vaccination, courtesy of Ontario taxpayers.
Initial Police reports said the victim stopped to videotape a black bear when it charged and attacked.
But a review of the tape found the man was close to the bear, and feeding it candy, before it attacked.
