Bear Bites Firefighter

There are a number of hazards in the bush for Ministry of Natural
Resources fire fighters, including wildlife.
MNR Spokesperson Yolanta Kowalski says earlier this week, a firefighter
was bitten by a bear northeast of Pickle Lake.
Kowalski says fire rangers often see bears in the bush but this is the
first time that she can recollect that a bear has actually bitten someone.
He was taken to the Sioux Lookout Health Centre for treatment but was
released with no major injuries.
