Animal Control Officers were forced to kill a black bear in Kenora over the Easter Long Weekend after awoke from hibernation in a bad mood.
The bear had spent the winter underneath the deck of a house in the north end of town.
Animal Control tried trapping the bear on Good Friday, without any success,and police say it became bold and more agressive as the evening wore on.
Attempts were then made to tranquilize the bear, but that also failed.
Police officers finally had to shoot the bear after it charged an animal control officer.
Residents in the area says more than a dozen shots were fired before the bear was finally killed.
