The Dryden Ice Dogs are up one game to none in their best of 7 semi-finals thanks to Chris Kitt. Kitt scored his second of the game 5 minutes and eleven seconds into overtime to beat the Schreiber Diesels 4-3. Dryden had a first round bye but jumped out to a 2-0 lead 23 seconds into the game. But Schreiber recovered and held a 3-2 lead by early in the third. Kitt tied it up before the midway point of the third before notching the OT winner. Rowan Bruetsch and Levi Cifra each scored for Dryden. Graema Harrington faced 36 shots for the win between the pipes. Game 2 of the series is set for Sunday night in Dryden before shifting to Schreiber Wednesday and Thursday. In other SIJHL play the Fort William North Stars beat the Thunder Bay Bearcats 7-4 at the Fort William Gardens. Game 2 in that series is at 3:30 Eastern at the Gardens.
