Provincial Police are out with some tips to prevent bears from coming into your neighbourhood this Spring.
With this years mild Winter, there are already some reports of bears coming out of hibernation early.
The biggest cause of a black bear entering a community is when their food source is running low.
Police suggest storing garbage in secured bins and making sure they are not out until the morning pick up.
The OPP say it’s also good to remove food residue and grease from barbecues after each use.
If you encounter a bear and they pose an immediate threat make sure you call 911.
