The Chief of the Kenora Police says the shooting of a bear in a residential neighborhood over the Easter long weekend was an isolated incident.
Dan Jorgenson says they will be conducting a review of the
shooting incident, because that’s their standard procedure.
He adds that their animal control officers have a very good track record when it comes to dealing with nuisence bears.
N003 Q: …went wrong. (22 secs.)
Jorgenson says that once an animal is shot, then the officers basically have the responsibility to make sure the animal is dead, which they did in the Good Friday shooting.
