The Ontario Government has launched the ‘Bear Wise’ program.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says the initiative has improved community safety and awareness since it was introduced 5-years ago.
Spokesperson Yolanta Kowalski says the MNR in Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances have yet to see their first nuisance bear.

Provincially the bear wise line has received 36 calls so far this spring.
