Bear Wise Program for Monday #2

The Ministry of Natural Resource’s Bear Wise Program is

in its fifth year of operation.

Spokesperson Yolanta Kowalski says the initiative has

improved community safety and awareness since it was

launched, and notes they continue to expand the program.

So far, MNR officials in Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances

have yet to deal with any bear reportings. Provincially

there has been 36 calls made to the bear wise line.
