Bear Wise Success

The final numbers are in and the Ministry of Natural Resources is
pleased with the ‘Bear Wise’ program which has concluded its first year.
The Toll-Free Nuisance Bear Hotline received over 14,000 calls and
the MNR acted on 8,700 complaints across the Province.
In the Dryden area, MNR staff followed up on 214 complaints.
The Province says the hotline was a public awareness success and will
operate next year.
