Bed Tax for Tourist Outfitters?

The Northwestern Ontario Tourist Association is looking to implement a bed tax for its members.

NWOTA represents tourist outfitters across the region and says its wants to raise more money for marketing.

Jerry Fisher is vice-president of the tourist organization and says efforts by the federal and provincial levels of government are simply inadequate and they need more money to attract visitors north of the border.

N004 Q: …of money. (18 secs.)

Fisher says the plan is to set up a corporation to adminster the funds.

He’s hoping the bed tax can be put in place by January.
