Ben Johnson Returning To Dryden

One of the most recognizable and talked about athletes in Canadian history is making a return trip to Dryden.
Track star Ben Johnson will be here the week of January 27th to train the Dryden Eagles Track team.
Eagles on Track Coach Mike Wood says Johnson will help his team get faster and stronger.
Wood says this is a once in a lifetime opportunity as Johnson is an incredible talent.
He notes local athletes will get a taste of what it takes to become a top level performer.
Wood says Johnson is still in phenomenal shape and can still do the 100m in 10.3 seconds flat.
Wood notes he doesn’t know anyone who has a stronger work ethic and a willingness to put in a hard days work at the gym.
The 1988 Olympic Gold medallist, who lost his medal in a controversial doping scandal, was here two years ago to work with the Dryden Ice Dogs.
Johnson claims that the Carl Lewis American camp planted drugs in his drink before the gold medal race.
Lewis has maintained that he was the only one in the starting eight that wasn’t dirty.
Revelations from this scandal were revealed in the ESPN documentary “9.79”.
