It may have been the warm weather or perhaps just the mood of the people attending – Dryden’s Remembrance Day Service at the Legion was well attended by a “standing room only” crowd.
After the service, most walked or marched to the cenotaph where over a hundred were already waiting.
Most of the surviving World War Two veterans chose to observe the outdoor service from the comfort of the Handi-Transit bus. As one Legion member said, “One of the fellows on the bus will be 100 next month. He deserves to be comfortable.”
