According to the Sierra Legal Defence the mining
exploration company Platinex still has equipment and
claims in the area of Big Trout Lake.
Spokesperson Justin Duncan says the company appears to
have left the First Nation, but community members still
have some concerns.

Duncan says the ore Platinex was exploring is highly
acidic, and could potentially harm Big Trout Lake, as well
as fishing and hunting in the area.
