Big Trout Lake Rally Audio #2

Members of the Big Trout Lake First Nation will be

rallying in Kenora tomorrow in support of their

band members who were jailed last week for contempt of

court.

The lone female protester is being transferred to the

Kenora Jail, and the women of Big Trout Lake and the

Nishnabe-Aski Nation are staging the event on her behalf.

Head Councillor Cecilia Begg was sent to jail last week

for six months for refusing to obey a court order to allow

the mining company Platinex to conduct exploration work in

their traditional land use territory.
