Big Two Points Up For Grabs For Ice Dogs

An intriguing battle in the SIJHL tonight as the Dryden Ice Dogs make the trip to Thunder Bay to battle the North Stars.
Both teams are 2-2 in their last 4 games and are bunched up near the top of the SIJHL standings.
Dryden is 2-points back of the second place Stars but Thunder Bay has 6 games in hand.
Game time is 6:30 and Mike Ebbeling will have the call starting at 6:15.
There’s one other game on the docket as Fort Frances takes on the Wilderness in Wisconsin.
The Dryden Ice Dogs have also been busy off the ice.
The Dogs have acquired Tim Kavanaugh from the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba League and Joel Warkentin from the Elliot Lake Bobcats of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Kavanaugh is a natural defenceman but played forward in his return to Dryden last Friday in Ear Falls.
Warkentin is a 6 foot, 190-pound defenceman from Manitoba.
The club has also traded veteran forward Rory Court to the Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Court was tied for the team lead in points this season, with 8-goals and 14-assists.
The Ice Dogs received player development fees in return.
Dryden has also released forward Casey Prange.
