Some big news for the forestry sector in Northern Ontario.
Natural Resources and Forestry Minister Bill Mauro says the province is committing more dollars to the Jobs and Prosperity Fund, which means the fund will now make the forestry sector eligible for funding.
Mauro says he will be developing the program over the next few months with help from the Minister of Economic Development and it will be a capital assistance program.
He adds permanent funding to the Northern Industrial Electricity Rate program also provides significant support to the industry.
