The Minister of Northern Development and Mines is promoting the benefits of the provincial budget for northern Ontario.
Michael Gravelle says $580-million has been allocated for the Northern Highways program.
Gravelle says money from that program will be used to complete the twinning of Highway 11/17 between Thunder Bay and Nipigon.
The budget also saw a re-confirmation of the $1-billion for the Ring of Fire.
Gravelle there’s also an increase of $2.5-billion for infrastructure.
