Bill Salonen Cup Coming Back To Dryden

A nine year championship drought has finally ended for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs are bringing the SIJHL title home for the third time in franchise history with a 7-3 win over English River Thursday night.

The Ice Dogs finished the playoffs with a perfect 8-0 record, matching the Dryden championship team of 2002.

They have also won 20-games in a row.

Braeden Allkins was named playoff MVP and had two goals, while Nic Noseworthy also potted a pair.

Matt Leniuk, Cory Dennis and Derek McPhail added singles.

Colton Johnson, Dante Raposo and Austin Kuhn replied for the Miners.

Patrick Zubick stopped 25-shots, while Michael Lenko replied with 33-saves.

Dryden will now travel to Trenton for the Dudley Hewitt Cup.

Their first game will be Tuesday, May 2nd against Georgetown.
