Resolute Forest Products is showing off its “green thumb”.
The company is finally using its new green energy wood waste boiler and condensing turbine in Thunder Bay.
Spokesperson Pierre Choquette says the new biomass project will help make the mill more competitive.
Choquette says Resolute will be using the electricity and selling it back to the Ontario Power Authority as away of making the mill more profitable.
The project is three years in the making and costs $65-million.
