Bird Population on the Rise

The Ministry of Natural Resources is proposing to remove the peregrine
falcon and the bald eagle from the endangered species list in Northern
Ontario.
Following public input, the birds will be listed as threatened and of
special concern.
Minister David Ramsay says the rebound of the population is due to
the banning of the pesticide DDT.
Pesticides nearly wiped out the birds population in the 60’s and 70’s.
