Bleak Future for Eagle River

Adult Education is hanging on by a thread.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has agreed to continue the program this year.
However, unless the Province doesn’t come through with funding, it will be suspended at the end of this school year.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson says they hope to hear from the Government in December.
Wilkenson says Adult Ed ran a $700,000 deficit last year and they are projecting another $300,000 this year.
Wilkenson says few Boards offer Adult Ed anymore however some Trustees feel they will receive another black eye because the program may never start up again.
