An Oral Language Specialist with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has set up shop at Madsen Public in Red Lake.
Superintendent Wendy Parkin says the pilot project has helped improve students speaking skills dramatically in the past.
It’s aimed at those whose first language isn’t English.
Parkin says the language specialists help staff weave the program throughout their curriculum and help students hone their skills at home.
Parkin notes the initiative has worked well in the past.
