The entire region becomes blue with envy starting this weekend as Sioux Lookout hosts the Blueberry Festival.
Opening ceremonies get underway Friday afternoon at 4:00 at Town Beach.
Coordinator Alyson Brunton was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show today and says this years theme is ‘Keep Calm and Blueberry On.’
She says no matter what happens during the year, the festival is an annual summer celebration that unites the community.
This is the 33rd annual festival that has grown from 50 events at the beginning to well over 100.
Brunton notes for the fourth year they have been recognized as one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario.
She says they are excited to grow and notes the ten event is the pride of the community.
