NDP Candidate Not Impressed With Possibility Of Weekend Election Call

The possibility of the longest election in history is not sitting well with a Kenora candidate.

Howard Hampton of the NDP says Prime Minister Stephen Harper is using every trick in the book to stay in power.

Hampton says the Conservative government rewrote Canada’s election laws to allow the party with the most money to hold the advantage.

He says the Conservatives have more money than anyone else because of their corporate connections.

Hampton believes Prime Minister Stephen Harper is willing to spend millions of dollars on an early election, while slashing away our public services.

Speculation is the writ will be dropped Sunday, officially beginning a 78 day election campaign.

Election day is set for October 19th.
