The Northwestern Health Unit is pleased with the response from its recent ‘Hike It or Bike It’ campaign.
More than 400-people participated in the challenge.
The aim of the program was to encourage local residents to park their vehicles and instead walk, bike, hike or roll to their destination.
Officials say most of the participants felt the event was an excellent motivator to add physical activity to their day.
The Health Unit is still encouraging residents to scrap their car and think about hitting the pavement.
A number of prizes were handed out to participants.
Bike winners: Kyler Loewen-Red Lake, Bryan Nelson-Dryden, Dustin Sulkers-Sioux Lookout.
Prize packs: Melanie Howard-Kenora, Rachel Hillier-Emo, Stacey Maki-Atikokan.
The workplace prize went to New Prospect School staff in Dryden.
