One person is dead following a boating accident on Lake of the Woods.
The O.P.P. say a 61 year old Kentucky resident was killed
last night while returning from a fishing trip near Nestor Falls.
Police say James Smith was sitting in the bow of a boat, when the operator momentarily lost control.
Smith was thrown into the lake and was struck by the motor.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and was not wearing a life-jacket at the time.
Smith had been staying in the Nestor Falls area with his
family.
The O.P.P. say they are continuing their investigation of the fatality, but say alcohol likely wasn’t a factor.
