Boating Safety Stressed By Police

Its only July and already six people have lost their life while boating on area lakes this summer.
The most recent incident happened Wednesday when a Minnesota man lost his life while boating on Lake of the Woods.
Superintendent of the OPP Northwest Region Al Dawson says in all cases the victims were not wearing a floatation device.
With the mercury expected to rise this weekend, more people are expected to hit area lakes.
Dawson says boaters should be aware of the currents and hazards, and should have the proper safety equipment on board.
