The Lifesaving Society of Canada wants boaters and
parents to smarten up when it comes to their kids, and
their own safety in the water.
Executive Director Rick Haga says a good rule for
watching your kids play in the water is, if the child is
more than an arms length away, it’s too far.

Haga says boaters are silly to believe that storing a
lifejacket in the boat while out on the water, and not
wearing it, will save them once there in an accident.
