Bob Nault is back as the MP for the Kenora riding with a successful return to federal politics.
The one-time Liberal Cabinet Minister was named the winner by just over 500 votes over Howard Hampton of the NDP with 153 of 154 polls reporting at 1:00 AM
The race went back and fourth all night with both candidates holding the lead by over 500 votes. Nault however took the lead the with the last 10 polls to seal the victory.
Incumbent Greg Rickford of the Conservatives was in the hunt for the first hour of the race before falling off to a distant 3rd.
Across the nation, the Liberals dominated with a landslide majority win. Steven Harper’s Conservatives will form the official opposition while the NDP dropped to third place.
