Dryden Police have confirmed that a body discovered early this week is that of a Dryden man who was missing since last fall.
Police say that the remains have been positively identified as those of 30 year old Jorma Hanninen, who had been reported missing last September.
The remains were found in a field in the Island Vue Road area on Sunday afternoon and had been sent to Kenora for identification.
Inspector Terry Spicer of the Dryden Police Service says “Our thoughts are with the Hanninen family who have suffered many weeks of sadness throughout this tragedy. The family would like to thank all those who assisted in the search for Jorma.”
No foul play is suspected, but Spicer says the matter remains under investigation.
