Boil Water Notice Remains In Place In Fort Hope

A boil water advisory remains in place on the Fort Hope First Nation.

Earlier this month, a fire forced the closure of the water purification reservoir.

Kenora MP Bob Nault says progress is being made to get the water system up and running again.

Nault says the pump house has been rebuilt.

He adds s a new water treatment plant is currently being designed and they hope to have that built in the next year or so.

Nault believes the water quality if fine but the notice will remain in place until further notice as a precautionary measure.

Nault was in the community last week along with Canadian Health Minister Jane Philpott.
