Bombardier Trying To Play Catch-Up

Bombardier in Thunder Bay says it’ll be ramping up production of streetcars for the Toronto Transit Commission.

The TTC is making no secret of the fact it’s upset with the slow rate the cars are being produced.

However Bombardier’s Marc-Andre Lefebvre says starting in September, the regional plant will be producing four streetcars a month.

The TTC says it was hoping to have 60 of the streetcars in service by now, however, they only have five.

Lefebvre says at this rate, Bombardier will be able to meet its 200 car target by 2019.
