Last night the Rainy River District School Board recognized the “Breakfast Buddies” program—and the volunteers who make it possible.
Since 2005, students at Huffman School have been benefiting from the program through a partnership with the United Native Friendship Centre.
The purpose of the program is “to ensure a balanced nutritional start to the students’ day.
Executive director of the UNFC, Sheila McMahon, along with Charlene Strain, and volunteers—received the board’s recognition of Excellence Award at last nights meeting.
The UNFC also provides breakfast program funding to J.W. Walker and Robert Moore.
