Bruce Montague will have to wait until Tuesday morning to find out if
he will have to serve any jail time.
The former Dryden Gunsmith and his wife Donna were in Kenora Court
today for a sentencing hearing.
The Crown has asked for a 3-year sentence for Montague to be served
in a penitentiary and 3-years of probation for his wife.
Montague’s Lawyer Doug Christie wants justice John Wright to reject
any mandatory minimum sentence for his client.
Christie asked the court if it was really necessary to destroy a
law-abiding citizen.
Justice Wright says he plans to hand down his decision on a sentence
around 10:30.
