Ontario Provincial Police are gearing up for the Easter long weekend.
Sergeant Shelley Garr with the Northwest Region says one of their main focuses this year is people not wearing their seatbelts.
Garr says they will also be on the lookout for distracted, aggressive and drunk drivers.
Last year in Northwestern Ontario, three people died in collisions because they weren’t wearing their seatbelts. Province-wide, 71 people died because they didn’t buckle up.
Garr adds that when the weather becomes a bit nicer, for some reason people aren’t putting on their seatbelt
If you don’t and are caught, it’ll cost you 240-dollars.
