The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is going to be penalized
by the Ministry of Education for not having its budget submitted on time.
Trustees aren’t expected to pass the budget until September 12th.
Superientendant of Business Dean Carrie says they will not get all of their September grants on time due
to the late submission.
Carrie says the Board had to cut $1.3-million to balance the books.
7-teaching positions that are normally held to help solve class size
problems have been eliminated by the Board.
Carrie says they also had to cut a number of capital expenditures,
including beautification projects, classroom furniture and computer
replacement.
