Busing Contract Handed To Keewatin

The Keewatin-Patirica District School Board says Keewatin Transportation will bus students in Red Lake.
After $50,000 in start uo costs, Keewatin will operate under the same contract as other providers.
The board will have to buy seven buses which will be incorporated when the contract goes to tender in November.
Manager of Transportation Judi Green says the new deal is cheaper than with McLeod Transportation, the former contract holder.
McLeod Owner Pat Sayeou says he had not seen an increase in ten years but believes his proposal would have likely been cheaper.
Keewatin Transportation is owned by a board trustee.
