It seems those opposed to a Dryden by-pass will not get their wish.
A meeting between Municipal leaders and Transport Minister Harinder Takhar provided no news that the proposal will be scrapped.
In fact, Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says the Government advised them a Highway 17 by-pass will likely come to be in a minimum 5 years time.
The proposed route has the road branching off from Airport Road to Richan Road, as well as the re-design of Highway 502.
Krassilowsky says they will continue to fight the issue and see where things go at the Provincial level.
