Dryden’s Ian McMillan and the Braden Calvert rink have picked up their first win at the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Boost National in Conception Bay, Newfoundland.
Calvert defeated Reid Carruthers 6-2 in seven ends Thursday in the All-Winnipeg battle.
McMillan was on fire throwing second rocks, curling 93%.
They wrap-up round robin play Friday at 1:30 central against Scott McDonald of Kingston, Ontario.
