Calls today for a huge hike in Ontario’s minimum wage.
Several social services agencies are holding demonstrations across the province today to bring the hourly wage up from $10.25 to $14.
Spokesperson Sonia Singh says the current rate, which has been frozen for the past three years, isn’t helping a lot of people get by.
She says a hike in the rate will bring people above the poverty line.
Singh says the demonstrations will continue each month until the province agrees to the increase.
