The Dryden Mission has applied for a significant tax exemption with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
The Mission was granted charitable status in early 2012 and Executive Director Pastor Jim Shearer says it’s legislated that they don’t have to pay taxes for the building.
Shearer says they have asked MPAC for an exemption and notes they can’t afford the hefty bill.
Shearer says they’ve launched an appeal with MPAC and expects to hear positive news by the end of August.
He notes they owe roughly $14,600 in taxes but is confident that MPAC will grant them relief.
