A Canadian Senator is trying to better understand the needs of the north.
Kim Pate was recently in Thunder Bay to meet with Indigenous students, elders and other leaders.
Pate says there are serious concerns about limited access to quality education and stresses she is taking those concerns back to Ottawa.
She notes one of the key roles of a Senator is to be a voice for those groups who don’t have one.
