Cancer Care Agreement Signed

A new agreement has been signed to address cancer concerns among local aboriginals.
The deal involves Cancer Care Ontario and Grand Council Treaty #3.
Both sides will work on patient care, increasing the number of screening programs as well as educate aboriginals on what cancer is.
Director for the Aboriginal Control Program Alethea Kewawyosh says the agreement is a collaborative approach to help fight cancer.
Kewawyosh says more and more information is becoming available in northwestern Ontario and notes Treaty 3 has been heavily involved in helping develop an aboriginal cancer strategy in Ontario.
