Fire Hazard Should Drop Locally This Weekend

The weekend forecast of nothing but rain should dampen the high forest fire hazard in Northwestern Ontario.
There are 2-active forest fires, one in the Dryden district and one in the Nipigon area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says both fires pose no problems.
Information Officer Heather Pridham says the rain may bring relief to this area, but not so much in the far north where the hazard is high to extreme.
