Cancer Care Ontario Hoping To Boost Local Screening Rates

Cancer Care Ontario says more of us should get tested for cancer.

In a new report it says people in our region don’t get screened for colorectal, cervical and breast cancers as often as the rest of the province.

It found 44% of eligible residents are overdue for a colon cancer test.

Regional Vice President Dr. Mark Henderson says by getting checked every two to three years you can catch the disease early.

He notes the North West Local Health Integration Network is trying to boost screening rates with its Screen For Life coach.
