For the next 5-days CKDR is asking the Kenora-Rainy River Provincial candidates what issues they feel are most important.
Today we get a sense of what they are finding on the campaign trail.
Liberal Anothy Leek says most people he has talked to feel that it’s nice to have someone young and passionate.
He says he’s been able to calm some fears during the campaign.
Green Candidate Jo-Jo Holiday says there’s so much dysfunction in society right now.
She notes its up to the Government to get things on track and our economy back where it should be.
Conservative Rod McKay says most people are frustrated with the state of the forest industry and the price of hydro.
McKay says the Liberals have ignored the North for far to long.
Charmaine Romaniuk of the Northern Heritage Party says developing and keeping our raw resources to develop production is critical.
She says everything will “waterfall” down from there.
NDP candidate Sarah Campbell says people are frustrated with the McGuinty Government.
Campbell adds it hasn’t been that long since the Conservatives “slashed and burned” our services.
