KDSB Moving Forward with Solar Projects

Two affordable-housing units in the Kenora District will soon be equipped with solar panel roofing.
The Ontario Power Authority has approved contracts for the Maples Seniors building in Keewatin and the Follansbee building in Red Lake.
Services Board CAO Dan McNeill says the Board has also agreed to issue tenders for 8-other units across the District.
That would result in a return of $10,000 to $14,000 a year.
The Board says they will be proceeding with roof replacements at 10 Victoria in Dryden regardless of the outcome of a solar contract from the Ontario Power Authority.
